We are proud to announce Olivia Ruggles-Brise, Director of Policy and Communications at the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), as the keynote speaker at the Global Green Destinations Day on 27th September 2016. Her presentation is titled: Tourism as a Driver of Peace.
The UN’s Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development states that “there can be no sustainable development without peace and no peace without sustainable development”. A recent study by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) explores the relationship between tourism, sustainability and peace, and how sustainable tourism development can contribute to more peaceful societies. It also looks at the role of sustainable tourism in developing more resilient destinations and how the sector itself can remain resilient in our world of political, economic and environmental uncertainties.
